To Wander Our Far or Stay Close to Home?
You’re struggling, aren’t you? Just like everyone else that has visited my humble abode, the wedding location messes everyone up and you don’t want pimples popping up before your big day now do you? Now for the big question, a country or city wedding? Check our pros and cons of an out of town vs a Perth city wedding and hopefully, it'll help you with your wedding planning.
Vibe + Beauty
Hopefully, I don’t sound too biased but the natural and rural vibe that an out of town wedding has is timeless. If you want to immerse yourself in stunning natural landscapes or be surrounded by an abundance of flora and fauna, a wedding down south may be for you. Super chill vibes await with any wedding down south and it’ll even feel just like a mini holiday for everyone.
Whilst a city wedding lacks that natural flora and fauna element there are still plenty of beautiful backgrounds to choose from such as busy streets, graffiti walls, and stunning architectural buildings that give that bustling urban vibe. Just be mindful that there might be some curious eyes that may walk by and peer into your ceremony if you choose to hold it in a public space.
Convenience
The proximity to others is a major benefit that comes with a city wedding. The city is equipped with many forms of transport that make it convenient for the guests to arrive and even with international guests, the airport is not too far from the city. Additionally, with many affordable accommodation options around the Perth CBD, nobody will be left homeless even if they’re dead drunk.
An out of town wedding guarantees a much more intimate vibe as the seclusion of the down south region means there likely won’t be many outsiders that wander around your wedding area, lowering the chance of disturbance from curious bypassers.
With a wedding down south, however, at least an hour or more drive is required which might be difficult or inconvenient for some people leading to a potentially smaller wedding crowd. Furthermore, some guests might not want to stay the night as well or be able to make time to make the trip leading them to not end up attending your wedding.
Photos
The city provides a range of venues such as churches and hotels but the city also offers more unique options such as nightclubs, arcades, aquariums, and more for wedding photography which makes it fun and a lot more different than your average wedding photos.
An out of town wedding would offer locations such as coastlines, natural landscapes, and rustic buildings creating more unique shots. Additionally, the countryside often offers lush green areas allowing for more freedom of space which a city wedding would not be able to attain. Both locations are beautiful so it’s really up to your preference.
Price
Now, this is a deal breaker… Generally, an out of town wedding would be more affordable with an endless amount of choices but factors in your wedding could also affect the budget leading to both venues being more expensive. Overall, it depends on how many people, the time of the year plus other factors that lead to the end price so do consider all those factors before deciding on a location.
At the end of the day, it’s your moment and your time to shine, so go for what sparks joy in your ecstatic wedding planning heart even if it’s in the middle of the jungle or a rowdy nightclub. Remember, it’s YOUR day, and your day only, so choose what best works for you but don’t forget to include Weddings by Iceberg as part of your wedding vendor team!
